Offenbach

Offenbach’s appeal lies in its distance from Frankfurt… and its proximity.

Rent prices are more affordable in Offenbach than in Frankfurt, especially for older apartments with high ceilings and little details from the turn of the century. Offenbach’s regional transport system makes it attractive to commuters who work in Frankfurt and the surrounding area.

Frankfurt and Offenbach have a long and curious rivalry that has often been played out on the football field. When Eintracht Frankfurt became the German champions in 1959, the Offenbacher Kickers came in second.

Offenbach is also known as the “Leather City”. In the early 20th century, no other city in Germany produced and processed so much leather. The Leather Museum is definitely worth a visit.
